About it

This is not just some random selection of books I picked out of search results.   I own each of these books (except where I say I don't own it) and I wouldn't put them up here unless I found something valuable in each of them.  Some of you may have certain predispositions toward certain authors listed here, but each has their own merits.

If you purchase them here by clicking the links I get something out of the deal and there is no increase in cost to you so please, if you are going to buy them anyway purchase them here.
Thanks.

Brewing Magazines

You can order this here, but you'd be better off joining the American Homebrewer's Association and getting it with the membership (same price).

Brewing DVD's

I don't own this, but if it's like the one above, it may be worth having.

I don't own this either, so I don't know about it.

Library

This first row are the top 5 books in my library.  I use them as reference guides and go to them frequently for answers to simple, and sometimes complex, questions.
Some may think that the clone-brew books are not necessary (Clone Brews and Beer Captured), but I beleive that your best initial brew sessions are going to be of clones of beer you are familiar with.  After that, "Designing Great Beers" allows you to branch out from these initial clone brews into your own unique styles.
If I had to do it again, I would buy these in the order listed here, starting with Palmer's book.

6 7 8 9 10
This row of books are more "advanced" styles of brewing for when you're ready to start doing something different.  Some are more "radical" than others, but they all have great ideas for new recipes.  Finally, if you have the desire to try making mead, the last book is a good one. Although I got a lot of information about meadmaking in Papazian's book.

I just got this book and it is awesome!

This row of books is more focused on the hardware and principles (software?) of brewing.

Above are the "Classic Beer Style Series" books, most of which I own and have read.  As I was putting this together I ordered three new books which I noted as "not read yet" and the some of the other books I do not own I noted as well.  These books have their uses.  If, for instance, you want to understand the history and origins of a style of beer, these books do a very good job at laying all that out. The order is not random, each has a number on the spine which is how they were added to the list.  Purists may feel that "Pale Ale" should be number 1 in the list, but I have the second edition which is listed as 16 on the spine of the book.  The first edition of "Pale Ale" is number 1.

Turning Pro

So you think you might want to make a career out of brewing? I've thought of that too and here are the books I own that cover that topic.
